What is a block chain?
Block chain technology refers to a way for people to participate in bookkeeping. There is a database behind all the systems. You can think of the database as a large account. At present, the respective accounts are recorded.
Because there is no centralization of intermediaries, allowing all things to run automatically through a predetermined program, not only can the cost be greatly reduced, but also the efficiency can be improved. Since everyone has the same account book, it is possible to ensure that the process of recording accounts is open and transparent.
The combination of RFID and block chain
RFID technology has been used early to improve the transparency of the supply chain, and block chains can ensure transparency and security that objects are mapped from the physical world to the virtual world. The block chain registers the transfer of goods on the ledger as a transaction to determine the parties involved in the production chain management, as well as the product origin, date, price, quality and other related information.
Because of the decentralized structure of the ledger, neither party can own the ownership of the ledger, nor can it manipulate data for personal gain. In addition, since transactions are encrypted and have an immovable nature, ledgers can hardly be damaged.
The combination of block chain and RFID technology will combat counterfeit goods and enhance customer trust in product supply chain.
First, whenever the product custodian changes, products with RFID tags will be scanned. Each scan will update the password of the RFID chip (and background), and capture and update the geographic information in the system.
Second, when buying, consumers can scan the RFID tags through smart phone applications to check the history of supply chain to ensure that the products are genuine. It also provides information about the origin, manufacturer, appearance and other products, as well as the location change.
Since each product has a different RFID label and will dynamically change with updates and password changes in the supply chain, duplication or forgery is eliminated. Opening the product or removing the label will result in the label being unusable and therefore cannot be used for illegal purposes.
With the help of RFID, the data of each main body of the supply chain is automatically uploaded. Using block chain and intelligent contract, the data of the main body of the whole supply chain are completely preserved, which ensures the transparency, traceability and non tampering of the data, so as to facilitate the anti-counterfeit traceability and supervision.
